Everything a visitor sees is set in Live chat › Chat settings › Appearance. Save, then reload your site; the change is live on the next page load.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Brand name | Shown at the top of the chat window. Empty uses the site name |
| Subtitle | A short line under the name, such as “Usually replies in a few minutes” |
| Primary colour | Colour of the bubble, the window header and the send button |
| Brand logo | Shown in the header. Square works best, at most 200 KB |
| Bubble position | Bottom right or bottom left |
| Dark mode | Follow the visitor’s system, always light, or always dark |
| Hide bubble on mobile | Hides the bubble in windows narrower than 640 pixels and in phone browsers |
| Visitor sound | A soft sound for new messages in the visitor window |
Choosing a colour
Pick a colour that stands out from your page but matches your brand. The widget chooses dark or white text on the header so the brand name stays readable. Want to try colours before you sign up? Use the chat widget builder.
The “Powered by AskCub” line
On the Free plan a small brand line sits at the bottom of the chat window. From Pro upward you can switch on Remove “Powered by” footer.
What the visitor sees on a phone
On small screens the chat window opens full height so the keyboard doesn’t cover the conversation. If you prefer visitors on phones to use a different channel, turn on Hide bubble on mobile; you can still share your chat link.
Change one thing at a time and check it on your real site — the header colour, for example, looks different next to your own page than in a preview.
