AskCub supports 6 message types: text, image, audio, video, file and voice. Choose who may send which attachments in Live chat › Chat settings › Messaging.
Default limits
| Type | Default cap | Who can send by default |
|---|---|---|
| Text | 4000 characters | Visitors and agents |
| Image (jpg, png, webp, gif) | 5 MB | Visitors and agents |
| Voice and audio | 10 MB, voice up to 120 seconds | Visitors and agents |
| Video | 50 MB | Agents |
| File (pdf, office documents…) | 20 MB, always downloaded | Agents |
You can change each cap, up to 50 MB. Executable and script files are always blocked. Archives (zip, rar, 7z…) are blocked by default; you can allow them by editing Blocked file extensions.
Unsend
Visitors and agents can unsend their own messages within the Unsend window — 180 seconds by default, adjustable from 30 to 3600. An “unsent” placeholder stays in the thread.
Reply to a specific message
Right-click, long-press or open the ⋯ menu on a message and choose Reply. The new message carries a short quote of the original; clicking it jumps back to the original.
Read receipts
Agents can see when a visitor has read their reply, and visitors can see when an agent has read theirs. Each side can be shown or hidden in Messaging.
Limits that protect you
To stop floods, a visitor can send up to 20 messages a minute and attach up to 100 files in one conversation. Agents can send up to 120 messages a minute.
Allow images from visitors. A photo of a broken item or an error message saves several rounds of questions.
