An invite rule shows an invitation automatically when a visitor has spent a set time on a page you choose. Manage rules in Live chat › Chat settings › Proactive invites.

FieldOptions
Page matchEvery page, path contains, path starts with, or a pattern (regular expression)
PageThe text or pattern to match, for example /checkout
Time on page3 to 600 seconds
MessageUp to 300 characters
PriorityDecides which rule wins when several match the same page
Once per visitorOn by default: each visitor sees this invite once

The invitation appears as a preview bubble in the name of an online agent.

How rules behave

  • If several rules match one page, only the highest-priority rule fires.
  • With Once per visitor off, the invite is shown again on each new visit to a matching page.
  • Matching and frequency are handled on our servers; nothing about invites is stored in the visitor’s browser.
  • No conversation exists until the visitor replies.

Statistics

Each rule shows how often it was shown, opened and replied to. Retire lines nobody answers and keep the ones that work.
