Open Live chat › Reports › Conversion attribution. It answers one question: do visitors who chat convert more?
Before you start
The report uses goals from your website analytics — a purchase, a sign-up, a booking. Without at least one enabled goal, the “reached a goal” numbers stay at zero.
Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Visitors that day | Visitors with at least one page view that day |
| Chatted | Visitors who started a conversation that day and sent at least one message |
| Reached a goal | Visitors who completed any enabled goal that day |
The chatted rate is the share of visitors who chatted and reached a goal that day. The no-chat rate is the share of visitors who browsed without chatting and reached a goal. Relative lift is the chatted rate divided by the no-chat rate, minus one.
The funnel shows three steps: visitors that day → chatted → reached a goal after chatting. Hot pages show where buying conversations started.
When to trust it
- When fewer than 30 visitors chatted in the range, the page says the sample is too small. Widen the range.
- Each day is joined separately: a chat on Monday and an order on Wednesday don’t count as “goal after chat”.
- Past days are stored overnight; today is calculated live, so this morning’s number will change by tonight.
Reading the result
Visitors who chat are often more interested to begin with, so the lift isn’t purely caused by chat. Use it to compare periods — before and after adding invite rules on checkout, for example — rather than as a single headline figure.
